Yale and Sunlight Group join forces at LogiMAT 2022
In its return to intralogistics event LogiMAT this week, Yale Europe Materials Handling joined forces with its new lithium-ion battery partner Sunlight Group, one of the world’s top manufacturers of industrial and advanced energy storage solutions, to showcase its latest lithium-ion power option to visitors to Stuttgart Messe.
As part of the deepening partnership between the two companies, Yale announced earlier in 2022 that it would offer Sunlight Li.ON FORCE batteries as a power solution for selected warehouse and electric counterbalance trucks. On the Yale stand, visitors could see a MR16 reach truck powered by a lithium-ion battery from Sunlight Group during the three-day event.
Sunlight Group boasts over 12 years of research and development in lithium chemistry and have previously provided lead-acid batteries for Yale products.
Experts from Sunlight Group were also present alongside Yale dealers and spokespeople on the LogiMAT stand to discuss how Sunlight Li.ON FORCE batteries can suit the applications of existing customers and new prospects.
Exploring the benefits of lithium-ion
For customers that require clean operations, such as food, beverage and pharmaceutical, lithium-ion batteries are an excellent fit as they emit no harmful emissions while operating or charging. There is also a reduced risk of chemical spillage.
When deployed in the right application, lithium-ion batteries in materials handling equipment can help to deliver efficient and productive solutions. Sunlight Li.ON FORCE batteries are well suited for intensive and/or multiple shift applications.
Lithium-ion reduces the need for replacement batteries and space for battery exchange. A combination of fast charging times and opportunity charging – which have no adverse effect on the battery life – means the operating range of the lithium-ion battery can be extended to cover tasks traditionally completed by lead-acid battery or internal combustion engine solutions.
A sustainable choice
In recent years, customers have been increasingly guided by both total cost of ownership and reducing their carbon emissions. When deployed in the right applications, electric powered materials handling solutions can offer a sustainable option and cost savings for customers. When coupled with time savings for battery exchange and maintenance – as lithium-ion batteries require little – this can result in lower overall operating costs in more intensive applications.
Timo Antony, Area Business Director Central Europe at Yale said: “It has been fantastic to be back at LogiMAT, and alongside our new partner Sunlight Group to showcase our newest offering of lithium-ion technology to visitors. With the addition of the Sunlight Li.ON FORCE batteries, we are enabling customers to select the best battery technology for their applications.”
“Our Sunlight Li.ON FORCE batteries are the most innovative and revolutionary Smart Battery Solution in the market,” said Dimitris Panagiotou, Sunlight Group Sales Director. “It was great to have Sunlight Group representatives on the Yale stand at LogiMAT to explain to visitors the benefits of our lithium-ion technology, which has been honed and refined over many years of intensive research. Our values align closely with those of Yale, and we are excited to continue our successful partnership moving forward.”
